The Top 10 Reasons We Use Canva

Once upon a time, the only way to make brochures, posters, or online images look professional was to hire a graphic designer to do it for you. Now, thanks to online software like Canva, business owners can take their everyday graphic design needs into their own hands.

If you think you’re ready to take on some design work yourself but you aren’t sure how to get started, read through the top 10 reasons that we use Canva for our own graphic design needs.

All the Templates

Whether you want to create a graphic for Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, or whatever, Canva has a template with the perfect dimensions for that particular platform. Canva Pro even has an option to let you instantly resize your design to a different social media template.

Brand Kit

The Brand Kit feature only comes with Canva Pro, but it deserves to be mentioned because it’s so very handy. This feature allows you to upload your business-specific fonts, colors, logos, and images so that you have all the visuals that represent your company right there to use as you design.

Transparent Backgrounds

After you’ve uploaded your logo or designed a new graphic, Canva Pro lets you save the image as a transparent PNG file so that instead of having a white background and outline that makes your image like a sticker, you can layer your graphic over other colors or designs, just like a professional.

Folders to store your work

Folders only come with Canva Pro, but it’s an option that you don’t realize is essential until you’re wasting time searching for something you need and wishing you just had it stored right there in Canva.

Fonts

People who are into design are pretty snobby about fonts, so having Canva’s wide variety of fonts to choose from makes sure you don’t look like an amateur. Then, if you upgrade to Pro, you get 500 more fonts, and the ability to upload and save your own.

Image Library

If you’re doing graphic design, sooner or later, you’re going to need some images, and Canva gives you access to 200,000, royalty-free, while Canva Pro ups that to two million.

It’s easy

With a user-friendly, drag and drop interface and lots of great templates, Canva makes it simple to create professional-level graphics whether you need an event poster, a business card, or a new website.

Design School

To make creating even easier, Canva offers videos that provide everything from graphic design courses to quick tips.

Team options

Canva Pro users have the option of adding Team Members to their account so they can share designs and folders and collaborate on projects.

GIFs and Animations

Although not for everyone, most businesses interested in having a big social media presence will appreciate the option to make their own GIFs and animations with Canva Pro.

You will be delighted (and maybe even surprised) to discover the quality of graphic design that you can produce with Canva’s easy, expert tools and a little time and effort. You can even try Canva Pro free for 30 days before you commit.

Until Next Time,
